Give your egg cosies a vintage feel with these pretty little crocheted pieces! Make them using your FREE 6mm crochet hook, then simply tie with ribbons, embellish with silk flowers, beads or sequins. Boiled eggs have never looked so cute!
Make as a single piece
Row 1: Make a magic circle then 1 chain stitch, 6 double crochet into circle, join with a slip stitch and pull the end of the thread to close the circle.
Row 2: 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in same stitch, 2 double crochet in each double crochet then join with a slip stitch.
Row 3: 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in same stitch, * 1 double crochet in next double crochet, 2 double crochet in next double crochet, rep from
* to end then join with slip stitch.
Row 4: 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each double crochet, then join with slip stitch.
Rows 5-11: Repeat Row 4.
Row 12: 3 chain stitch, * slip stitch to next double crochet, 3 chain stitch, rep from * to end then join with slip stitch, fasten off.
Finishing: Sew in the wool ends and trim. Gently primp the loops at the bottom of the cosy to frill them out slightly. Use a crochet hook to help you weave ribbon through the bottom row of double crochet chain spaces and tie in a bow. Trim the ends of the ribbon diagonally to help prevent fraying.
